Then the call came in. A man lying alone beside a plastic dump on the edge of the city. Immobile. In pain. Barely holding on.
His name was Rohan. Lying on crumpled plastic, leaning against a ledge, his leg badly swollen, wrapped in old rags with a deep open wound — clearly infected.
At first, he didn't want help. He was withdrawn, scared, and clearly beaten down by life.
His eyes said everything. He had given up.
So we knelt beside him. We introduced ourselves. We spoke gently. We let him know he wasn't alone. Slowly, something shifted.
With a slight nod… he agreed.
